The RMYC Youth Racing Team in Santander spent the day undergoing some practice races.
Wind from the north between 020 and 035 degrees of 5 knots/ 8 knots gusts, clear sky, a lot of current up the river and 30++ degrees.
As is the norm, practice race was a mess…people starting before, in the wrong fleet, not rounding marks. So the team couldn’t take in from the experience as much as they wanted to except for the starts which were a gold warm up, as well as get some more of a feel for the racing course.
The team together with Head Coach Miguel, finalise the plan for the coming days and feel ready. The plan is to play smart with the information and experience they have.
As is to be expected, the levels of tension and anxiety are a bit high, however Coach Miguel has organized activities to make the team relax and feel confident for tomorrow.
The day ended with the opening ceremony, where the Maltese flag flew proudly amongst the other nations.
Fair winds, good luck and safe racing to our team at the RS Feva World Championships
