Sailing Events

The purpose of a protest form in sailing is to provide a structured way for competitors to officially raise concerns about potential rule breaches during a race. This process ensures fair play and adherence to the racing rules, allowing for a formal review and resolution of disputes.

The Royal Malta Yacht Club will be presenting the Short handed Series Trophy to the boat that performs best overall in the IRC Category in the short handed races on the RMYC calendar. The owner of a boat eligible for this trophy shall be a full member of the RMYC.

Racing at the RMYC will use the IRC rating rule to calculate corrected times using a time on time basis. All boats participating in races organised by RMYC are required to have an IRC Rating, which can be obtained through the RMYC office who is Malta’s local Rating Authority. Rules for Cruising are also included in this document.

The Royal Malta Yacht Club will be presenting the annual Offshore Challenge Trophy to the boat that performs best overall in the IRC Category in the RMYC offshore races which count towards this trophy .The owner of a boat eligible for this trophy shall be a full member of the RMYC.
