At RMYC Sailing School, we value respect, responsibility, and the love of sailing. This Code of Conduct is here to guide sailors and parents in creating a positive environment.
The Royal Malta Yacht Club is committed to creating a safe and positive environment for all participants involved in Sailing (in any form). Safeguarding policies for sport federations are crucial to ensure the well-being and safety of participants, particularly children and vulnerable individuals.
The purpose of a protest form in sailing is to provide a structured way for competitors to officially raise concerns about potential rule breaches during a race. This process ensures fair play and adherence to the racing rules, allowing for a formal review and resolution of disputes.
Racing at the RMYC will use the IRC rating rule to calculate corrected times using a time on time basis. All boats participating in races organised by RMYC are required to have an IRC Rating, which can be obtained through the RMYC office who is Malta’s local Rating Authority. Rules for Cruising are also included in this document.
The Royal Malta Yacht Club will be presenting the annual Challenge Trophy for the Coastal, Offshore and Short handed Categories to the boat that performs best overall in the IRC Category in the local races which count towards the trophies as listed below. The owner of a boat eligible for this trophy shall be a full member of the RMYC.
