Royal Malta Yacht Club Signs Reciprocal Agreements with the Gstaad Yacht Club and Royal Belgian Yacht Clubs

The Royal Malta Yacht Club (RMYC) announced the recent signing of two reciprocal agreements with Gstaad Yacht Club and Royal Belgian Yacht Club.

The reciprocal agreement with the Gstaad Yacht Club (GYC) was formalised during a recent visit to the RMYC by GYC Commodore Manrico Iachia and Managing Director Cindy Schönrich, and was signed in the presence of RMYC Commodore Mark Napier and Past Commodore Godwin Zammit.

Based in the Swiss mountains, the Gstaad Yacht Club has grown into an international community of over 400 members representing more than 35 countries. The club maintains a vibrant social atmosphere and supports sailing across all levels—from junior development to professional racing. It is firmly established within the Swiss sailing scene, particularly within Olympic pathways, and is active internationally in classic yacht circuits.

Despite its mountain location, the GYC has been a committed voice for sustainability since 2011, placing environmental protection at the core of its mission. Its initiatives include collaborations with respected foundations, governing bodies, and regional organisations focused on safeguarding oceans and waterways.

In addition to the Gstaad Yacht Club, the Royal Malta Yacht Club has also added the Royal Belgian Yacht Club, based in Antwerp, to its list of reciprocal partners. This expansion offers RMYC members greater access to international facilities, clubhouses, social events, berthing options, and networking opportunities when travelling abroad. Reciprocal agreements foster the exchange of hospitality and culture between clubs, enriching the experience for all members.

This brings the Club’s current total of reciprocal clubs to 45.
