The Royal Malta Yacht Club and RLR Yachting will be hosting a Rope Seminar & Workshop from MARLOW ROPES technical expert – Graham O’Connor , a rope and rigging expert from Marlow Ropes in the UK. The Workshop will take place on Wednesday 16th March from 6:00 – 7:30pm at the Club.
Graham will take us through the history of rope and ropemaking in Hailsham, UK. A History spanning over 200 years. We will learn how rope technology has evolved over the years and what’s going on at the cutting edge of technology today.
During the workshop, those present will learn how to:
- Choose the best ropes for the right application
- Best care for and maintain your ropes
- Basic splicing to get the most out of your ropes
- There will be a short splicing workshop after the talk over some drinks… make a soft shackle to take home with you!
Drinks and snacks will be served after the talk, which is free of charge, however, members are requested to register their attendance with the Club Secretariat by no later than Monday 14th March.
