RMYC Talent Recognised on Malta’s Biggest Sporting Stage

Sunday proved to be an exceptional evening for sailing and for the Royal Malta Yacht Club at the MOC Gala Sports Awards, with several RMYC sailors and teams recognised for their outstanding achievements on the international stage.

Katrina Micallef was presented with the Bronze Award following her bronze medal at the 2024 ILCA 4 Youth World Championships, a result that underlines her continued progress among the world’s top young sailors.

Victoria Schultheis received both the Accomplishment Award and the Gold Award after a remarkable season that saw her win the 2025 Moth Championship and finish among the top eight athletes globally in the class. She was also presented with a Special Award for her three Grand Prix victories in the Switch Class during 2024.

A Gold Award was also awarded to Team Stella Maris Boost following their success at the SB20 European Women’s Championship, where they claimed the continental title.

The evening also marked a proud moment for the wider RMYC community as Jean Paul Fleri Soler was inducted into the MOC Hall of Fame, in recognition of his outstanding lifetime contribution to Maltese sailing.

The Royal Malta Yacht Club congratulates all award recipients on their well-deserved achievements and for continuing to fly the Club’s burgee with distinction.
