The Royal Malta Yacht Club is proud to announce the reactivation of its Sustainability Sub-Committee, a key driver in the Club’s ongoing mission to enhance its environmental and community impact. This year, the committee will be focused on the implementation of the RMYC Sustainability Compass, a strategic tool launched in 2024 that aims to embed sustainable practices across all areas of the Club’s operations and events.
The 2025 Sustainability Sub-Committee is composed of a dynamic group of individuals committed to pushing the Club’s green agenda forward. Members include Mark Napier, Mark Vella, Georges Bonello Du Puis, Melanie Vella, Ruya Cakmakli Denisuc, Rachel Ferry, Alannah Xuereb, Angel Ellul Fenech, and Carlo Binda. The Royal Malta Yacht Club extends its gratitude to all committee members who will be meeting regularly throughout the year to monitor progress, propose initiatives, and drive meaningful change.
As part of its commitment to transparency and community engagement, the Club will soon be inviting members to a dedicated session where updates and developments on the sustainability strategy will be shared. In the meantime, members are warmly encouraged to attend the first key event of the year:

Join us for a practical and inspiring masterclass designed to help you transform sustainability from a compliance-driven task into a strategic advantage that delivers real environmental and social impact, while also strengthening your organisation.
You’ll be introduced to the Solutionist mindset, an action-focused approach to sustainability that prioritises innovation, clarity of purpose, and tangible results. Using our 8-step framework, we’ll guide you through the process of developing or refining your sustainability strategy.
This session will be of particular value to Royal Malta Yacht Club members, as we will be showcasing RMYC Sustainability Compass as a case study, including the approach we took together and how the club is positioning itself as a leader in marine and community sustainability.
What you’ll take away:
- Shift your mindset from sustainability as responsibility to sustainability as opportunity.
- Understand the relevance of EU regulation (CSRD, CSDDD), and how to go beyond compliance.
- Use a Solutionist lens to focus on opportunity and innovation.
- Apply a tangible, step-by-step framework to design or refine your strategy.
- Learn how to align your sustainability actions with your organisation’s purpose for lasting impact.
Whether you’re managing a business, leading a team, or running a club — this session will give you the clarity, tools, and inspiration to lead the way sustainably.
