MLCA Regatta Success for RMYC Crews

MLCA Regatta Success for RMYC Crews

We are thrilled with the excellent results the RMYC Sailing School achieved at the 2021 MLCA Regatta hosted by Birzebbugia Sailing Club over the weekend.

Although two days of sailing were planned, weather conditions dictated otherwise on Saturday thus races were only held on Sunday, when the south easterly wind was approximately 10 to 12 knots. In the Optimist Class, Novice and Senior classes started together. The Novice sailors raced a total of three races whilst the Senior, Cadet and Laser Classes raced a total of four.    Our young sailors, coached by Ruya Cakmakli and Charlie Linsell, brought trophies home in the Optimist and Laser Classes.  It was a particularly proud moment for the Optimist Novice Class, when the podium was made up of an all RMYC Sailing School team – Maksim Juskevic, Ethan Kodjaazliev and  Jacob Carl Delia.More trophies were in store for us as you can see from the list below.

Massive well done to all our sailors, we are so very proud of you!

A big thank you goes to Birzebbugia Sailing Club for hosting us!
