Action Continues in RMYC Winter Series by Beneteau as Fleet Eyes Final Race

Ton Ton Laferla once again leads the charge

The penultimate race of the RMYC Winter Series by Beneteau delivered more action on Saturday afternoon as the fourth race of the pursuit series took place outside Marsamxett Harbour.

Racing was divided into two classes — IRC and the RMYC Club Class. In the IRC fleet, Ton Ton Laferla once again proved the team to beat, securing its second win in as many races. Anthony Calleja’s Lartista finished in second place and has now climbed to the top of the provisional leaderboard. David Anastasi’s Pippus crossed the line in third place and now sits level on points with Godwin Zammit’s Inspiration in the overall standings.

In the RMYC Club Class, Martin Kunath’s Forever25 secured another race victory, followed by Matthew Zarb Cousin’s Thunder Child in second and Ali Namli’s Exaltor in third. Thunder Child currently leads the overall Club Class standings, ahead of Forever25, with Roderick Zahra’s Irie in third place.

With the final race of the series scheduled for 18 April, and with the discard coming into play, several placings are expected to shift. This sets the stage for an exciting conclusion, with the final race poised to determine the overall winners of the RMYC Winter Series by Beneteau.

The Royal Malta Yacht Club thanks Mediterranean Yacht Sales, exclusive representatives for Beneteau for their support.

Meanwhile, the Club will host the RMYC Spring Weekend Regatta between 28 and 31 March. The Clubhouse will serve as the base for the long Freedom Day weekend, featuring the traditional regatta format alongside the lively social atmosphere that has become synonymous with these race weekends.
