Dockside Finds & Nautical Treasures – Help Us Bring a Boatjumble Taster Weekend to Life

The Royal Malta Yacht Club is currently exploring the idea of hosting a Boatjumble Taster Weekend on the last weekend of May – and we’d love to gauge your interest before finalising our plans.

Titled “Dockside Finds & Nautical Treasures,” the event is inspired by the spirit of the iconic Beaulieu Boatjumble and aims to create a relaxed, community-focused, Mediterranean-style pop-up market and family celebration along our waterfront.

The Club would be transformed into a vibrant festival setting, with a programme that could include:

  • A second-hand boat show on the Club pontoons
  • Member-run stalls selling sailing gear, books, clothing, and marine memorabilia
  • A classic car display in the Club car park
  • Free “Start Sailing” taster sessions for newcomers
  • Pilates on the Roof Terrace
  • Nautical storytelling, kids’ crafts and activities, and live music
  • Refreshments including a coffee & pastizzi corner, a special Maltese menu, and a Nautical Negroni bar

We’re currently in the planning phase and are reaching out to our members and the wider community to see who might be interested in:

  • Setting up a stall or display table
  • Showcasing a second-hand boat
  • Entering a classic car
  • Volunteering or contributing to the programme (e.g. storytelling, kids’ crafts, performances)

Entry to the event would be free, with proceeds from selected activities going toward a local charity.

If this sounds like something you’d enjoy – whether as a participant or a visitor – we’d love to hear from you. Your feedback will help us shape the event and determine if there’s enough interest to move forward.
